What's been bothering them?
Let’s elaborate on that for a minute. Upgrade Estate runs large real estate investment projects, which require annual meetings with the respective investors. However, it can prove mighty difficult to get everyone rounded up in a singular location. Traffic jams, long-distance travel, and other time restrictions can throw some serious salt in your game when you’re trying to set up these meetings. Hence the need for a remote solution.
How did we fix it?
Our solution was to build a real-time streaming platform that allows board members to digitally attend general assemblies, interact with others, and participate in voting rounds. This platform had to be not only legally compliant and idiot-proof, but more importantly, it ought be getting more and more usage over time.
What are the results?
Fun fact, this whole thing was built in just 10 weeks. 10! We started out with zero background knowledge on low-latency streaming of video and audio, too, mind you. Now, general meetings can be set up much quicker, without having to worry about poor attendance or other logistical issues that could interfere.
What did the process look like?
Moving fast is our trademark, and what allows us to create better experiences, faster, is our process. We’ve fragmented the entire development cycle into week-long sprints. Short, intsense bursts of productivity, with clearly defined challenges at the start, weekly stand-ups, rapid prototyping, and repeated end user testing. As a nice added bonus, it also allows for custom tailored roadmaps depending on the project and client.

In just ten weeks we designed, developed, and launched a fully operational streaming platform, where users can sign in to get an overview of their planned meetings, and choose whether to join the broadcast or make a physical appearance at the meeting.
Not only can users watch a low-latency broadcast of the assembly, they can also view the presentation in real-time, interact with other users in the chat, and participate in voting rounds!
